Robin hadn't heard another peep about a potential puck in town. As far as he knew the mysterious naked jewelry thief hadn't been caught, and also hadn't made any other hits - at least not any that had eye witnesses or had caught him on camera. Though he might have preferred hearing something; the nugget of threat and then a lack of closure just had him on edge.

He knew he'd probably been a dick because of it, too. When Robin was uncomfortable, and especially if that discomfort had an edge of fear, he overcompensated. He pretended everything was fine, which meant he amped his Robin-ness up to eleven. Figuratively, he'd been swinging from chandeliers.

Which is why he was drunk and stumbling into the flat at 7:45 in the morning. He also couldn't remember where he'd left his shirt.

He tried to be quiet, but ended up crashing into the kitchen table and sending a bowl of apples crashing to the ground and rolling about. He swore.

Prometheus hadn't bothered going to bed, he didn't need as much sleep as mortals did. Instead he'd stayed up, slowly chipping away at a slab of marble.

The noise was enough to pull him out of the moment though, and the titan put aside his tools before going to have a look.

"Alright, dove?" He asked curiously, aware that Robin seemed to be a bit upset lately. "Why don't I make you a coffee?"

"Oh... hi, Prometheus," Robin said, smiling at him. "Sorry, I was trying not to wake you. Do you know where I left my shirt?" He walked into the kitchen and turned on the faucet, leaning down to drink from the stream of water.

"You'd have to be more specific. You've many shirts, petal," the titan replied, quirking a brow as he watched the puck.

"The one I was wearing earlier," Robin said vaguely, opening a cabinet at random in an attempt to find something to eat. "Come to think of it... where did I leave my car?" He realized he had just arrived in an uber. "Maybe my shirt is in my car... Did you say something about coffee? Do you think we have coffee cake?"

"I'm not sure we even have food, love. Sit, I'll make us coffee and... Eggs. I'm fairly certain there are eggs," Prometheus offered.

Robin walked over to him. "Why are you so nice to me when I've just stumbled in wasted after having spent the evening fucking a bunch of people whose names I don't remember?"

Prometheus gently caught hold of his chin, leaning in and pressing a kiss to the puck's forehead.

"For the same reason you forgive my madness and violent past," he said simply.

"You haven't been mad or violent for a long time," Robin pointed out.

[pecked_by_birds]

"Not violent, no, but I've vanished here and there, pet," he reminded the puck. "We are who we are. I'm not going to scold you for going off the rails here and there. Now sit," he instructed, giving the puck's cheek playful little sharp tap.

Robin sat, as if a well-conditioned pet. "Does a night of tantric sex with a couple of Welsh acrobats count as going off the rails? Oh... I wonder if my car is in Cardiff."

"Honestly, Robin, it sounds like an average night for you," Prometheus said, pulling out the french press and getting the coffee going before beginning the eggs. "You enjoy yourself, and I see nothing wrong with that."

"Did I mention the drugs?" Robin said. "Because there were a lot of drugs involved. Also I can't figure out where this came from." He lifted his arm to reveal a burn mark near his elbow. "But I'm not trying to convince you. How about a splash of whiskey in that coffee, though?"

"Do you want me to be upset? What would that accomplish? If you're attempting to push me away, you don't need to put in so much effort. Just say the word and I'll go," the titan replied, looking over and studying the puck with a small frown. "If you're trying to pick a fight, however, I'll simply ask that you don't. I've worked hard for control over my temperament, and though I love you very much, I'll not risk that to entertain you."

"Just say the word and you'll go?" Robin scowled. "That's comforting."

Though the truth was, maybe he was trying to pick a fight. It wouldn't be the first time he'd poked at something dangerous.

The titan took a calming breath and turned off the stove. The pan had barely warmed and the eggs remained mostly raw as he dumped them onto a plate and turned towards the puck.

He considered Robin for a long moment then lifted the plate over Robin's head and turned it over. The yokes burst as they made contact with the puck's scalp, and the titan hummed thoughtfully.

"There. Conflict. That's what you wanted, right?" he asked, though he didn't wait for an answer before turning and heading back to his sculpture in the other room.

Robin gasped in surprise, and then sat there for a long moment with egg yolks running dow his face.

He was such a monumental fuck-up, he thought. Maybe the difference between him and some other puck wasn't as obvious as he might have thought.

He had to walk past Prometheus to get to the bedroom. Shedding his clothes as he went, and then turning the spray of water in the shower on as hot as he could stand before stepping under it.

Prometheus watched him go, and didn't follow immediately. Partly for his own sake, but mostly for the puck's. It wasn't until the shower had been running for a while that he decided to join him.

Silently he shed his clothes and stepped in behind Robin, pressing a soft kiss to his shoulder and then picking up the soap and starting to wash his back. He didn't speak, words could be so clumsy, his hands never were.

Robin's body stiffened at the first touch, but then almost immediately relaxed. "I probably deserve another egg," he said softly.

"You deserve love," the titan said, soapy hands working slowly over the puck's body. "You could tell me what's the matter though. Is this about that other puck still?"

[goodfellow]

"I don't know," Robin said softly, his head dropping down. "It... yes, it feels like a ticking time bomb, but I don't know if that's everything that's the matter with me. I think that's probably just me."

"You've never liked having your kin about. It makes you anxious. I always assumed it was a bit of a territorial thing- That and most of your kin are obnoxious horrors," the titan offered, taking the shower spray down off the wall and gently washing away the suds.

"Having them around makes me feel less like myself," Robin said quietly. "Remember when Pan tried to convince you he was me? I don't like the idea of someone fucking with my reputation."

[pecked_by_birds]

"No one who loves you would ever mistake you for another," Prometheus purred. "I understand though, you've worked hard to build an identity, to have it stolen would be like losing part of your soul."

[goodfellow]

"You're the only person I would completely trust to know me," Robin said softly.

[pecked_by_birds]

"I'm honored," Prometheus said, pressing a kiss to the back of Robin's neck before gently working his fingers through the other man's hair.
