It was a brisk day, but Robin enjoyed walking on the beach. Barefoot, but still dressed in an impeccable suit. Once he'd found one, he hadn't found much else that was decent at all. And looking better made Robin feel better. And there was a lot to not feel great about right now.

He stopped walking, and his feet sank into the sand slightly. But he was distracted by the man walking out of the ocean. He was dressed in a skin tight wetsuit, and skin tight was a very good look on him.

He slipped one hand out of his pocket, and offered a wave.

"Amateur," Bond smirked, then leaned in this. "How about this?" he asked in a flawlessly rare dialect of Farsi.

Robin actually was kind of impressed. Even though he knew that there was no way Bond could sin this game. And though Robin typically didn't flaunt the things about himself that made him seem supernatural, he wasn't one to back down from a challenge.

"I do not think you will win this game," Robin said in Swahili, and then, "But still, I am impressed," in ancient Greek.

His Swahili was conversational at best, and the other...it reminded him of school.

"You may have one-upped me on that one," Bond said. "Greek?"

"Even better," Robin said. "Mostly dead German."

"You've got the talented tongue," Bond said appreciatively. "I'm sure we could fill the nights with games of one-upman-ship."

Robin smirked. ""Wouldn't be the first time I'd filled a night with my tongue."

"And with luck it won't be the last," Bond said with a cheeky smile. "But let's start with drinks before we get to anything serious," he said, pulling open the door to to the dome.

"Well then, why don't you have that shower... and I'll be waiting for you," said Robin.

Bond nodded, then headed off for the standard showers pausing only to pick up new clothes. He took only enough to wash, then appeared in the kitchens with a towel scrubbing his head dry. "All sorted to go home for a drink?" He asked.

Robin held up a bowl, in which there were neatly cut pieces of fruit. "Mangoes," he said.

"Lovely," he replied. He'd gone casual today, choosing from the closet a pair of jeans and a navy jumper. The way he wore it made it feel like he could have stepped off the runway. "On our way. Oh, one moment," he said, then opened a cupboard and took two cans of sardines.

Robin did appreciate the look. The wet hair was a nice touch, too.

"Excellent," Robin said. "Lead the way."

The cottage he shared with Q and Harry was just down the path from the dome. The ocean waves broke rhythmically against the shore. Bond let them into the cottage and called out, but there was no sign of Q or Harry. Only the darlings that came mewing to Bond.He shushed them gently, then went into the kitchen so he could open the sardines and put the cans on the floor.

"Q's darlings," he explained. "It's really their cottage. We just live here in order to serve them."

With the cats fed, Bond grabbed a couple mugs and set about prepping drinks and caviar and pate. A feast, really. Decadence that was such a treat in this strange land they'd found themselves in.

"A somewhat more domestic scene than I was expecting," Robin said, looking amused. He looked over at Bond. "Who is Q?"

"The cottage was like this when we got here, though we've made a few improvements," Bond said. He poured a generous measure of a very good scotch into the cup for Robin and handed it over.

"Q is a colleague of mine, and Harry we knew from doing business with his firm. How we all three turned up here is a mystery," he continued, trying to make it all sound terribly bland. Even here it wouldn't do to let just anyone know what sort of business the three of them were actually in to.

"Ah, quite a full house then," said Robin, glad at least that it wasn't a girlfriend, or boyfriend. The cats could have been the tip of the domesticity iceberg.

He took the scotch and brought it up to his nose, then sighed happily.

"We make do. It's good to keep your friends close," Bond said, sipping his scotch. He was feeling a bit cramped, but desperate times, and all that. He could put his solitary nature to bed in favor of working together to find a way home.

"True," said Robin. "I do get easily... cramped, though."

One of the cats came over and rubbed against his leg, purring. Cats tended to like him; he was pretty sure they knew what he was. Recognized him as a superior being, he liked to think.

"Looks like you've made a friend," Bond said, nodding at the cat. "The tabby is the friendlier of the two, I've noticed. They only like me when I feed them."

"I'm just naturally magnetic," said Robin. "To creatures big and small." He winked.

Bond chuckled softly.

"Do you think so?" he asked.

[goodfellow]

"What, you don't agree? I suppose you should get to know me better. But as you can see, the cat has exceptionally good taste." Robin grinned.

"Well, if the cat thinks so..." Bond replied, a teasing sparkle in his blue eyes. "I think anyone who can appreciate good scotch is someone worth knowing."

And, to be fair, there weren't that many people here. It would do well to make sure they weren't enemies.

Robin sighed wistfully. "I have a nineteen sixty-seven Deanston single malt I'd been saving." Saving since 1967, actually.

"I don't suppose it followed you here," he replied.
