Robin had been elsewhere in the club when one of his employees mentioned that they'd spotting Nyx there, and Robin immediately went to find him.

Out on the dance floor, Robin slid an arm around his waist and leaned in close so he could be heard. "How nice to see you, darling."

"I don't know. Maybe? It's not something he likes to talk about. I've just never known him to seek sex out. It's sort of weird for our kin, but- I mean, Rain is pretty strange," Nyx said honestly.

Robin wouldn't have chosen that word, but he didn't think Nyx meant it negatively.

He also didn't think that it was just about sex (or not sex) that was surprising Nyx so much, but the fact that Rain was spending time with anyone at all. Which made Robin think of all the things Rain said about feeling comfortable with him, and how surprised he seemed.

"I just want to be careful," he said. Pause. "He likes me. And I take it that's... unusual."

"I mean... I've never known him to take an interest in anyone," Nyx admitted. "Not since we were children. He had a few friends then, though they were our friends, if that makes sense."

[goodfellow]

"Well then it's very flattering," Robin said. "And look, I know you might be concerned about me hurting him, but... I haven't pushed him to do anything, and I won't. And he knows exactly who I am. What pucks are like."

[tempting_the_fates]

"That doesn't mean he's keen," Nyx said, perhaps a bit protective. "I mean... Look, just because he knows what pucks like doesn't mean he thinks you want that from him. That's all I mean.

[goodfellow]

"That isn't what I meant," Robin said quickly. "More that... whatever is happening between Rain and I, I assume he knows that I have a lot of sex. Even though it's not with him."

[tempting_the_fates]

"I promise you, unless you explicitly tell him that, he has no idea," Nyx said, unable to stop a small laugh. "It wouldn't even occur to him. Things like that don't."

Robin blinked at him. "Surely... he can't think I'm celibate."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Oh, I bet he does," Nyx said, unable to stop another laugh. "It's fine, probably. I mean, I don't think he'd be upset..."

[goodfellow]

Robin didn't seem to find this particularly funny. "Maybe this isn't good for him," he said. "Maybe I'm not good for him."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Maybe," Nyx agreed with a shrug. "I don't know if either of us get to decide what is or isn't good for him though. All you can do is talk to him."

[goodfellow]

“… right,” said Robin. It was a fair conclusion.

He managed a little smile. “Hey, I’m sorry. Didn’t mean to dump this on you.” He supposed Nyx had asked, but he probably hadn’t realized what he was getting into when he did.

"It's fine, it's not like he's going to tell me anything. I had to beg him to come to the party you know," he admitted.

“Well he loves you,” said Robin. Pause. “He worries about you, too.”

[tempting_the_fates]

"I'm fine," Nyx replied. "Always am. He needn't spend time worrying. I always bounce back. ...Do you mind if we step out and have a smoke?" he asked.

[goodfellow]

"Not at all," Robin said. "Let's go out the back." He led them out through the kitchen and outside.

Nyx followed along, slowing to admire someone new in the kitchen, then quickly catching up with Robin.

"Gods it's freezing tonight," he complained, using a bit of magic to warm the air around them, before offering Robin a smoke. "I can't stand the cold, can you?"

"This time of year I always consider going and laying on a beach somewhere in Greece until April," said Robin. "Sometimes I do."

He took the cigarette and took a drag before handing it back to him.

"What's keeping you here this year then?" Nyx asked, taking the cigarette back.

[goodfellow]

"I don't know, I guess I'm relatively content here right now," Robin said. "Besides, I have some exceptionally expensive cashmere sweaters that deserve some wear."

[tempting_the_fates]

"Fair enough. If I didn't have shows coming up, I'd think about going somewhere warm. ...I do love Christmas though," he admitted with a little grin.

[goodfellow]

"Yeah? What do you like about Christmas?" Robin asked, genuinely curious. "Do you have traditions?"

[tempting_the_fates]

"No, nothing like that. I just like the lights, and the glitter, and the sparkle of it all. Sort of reminds me of home. I decorate though, even if I just use magic to do it," Nyx beamed. "Oh, and all the blankets and things, I love buying blankets. I've got loads of them in different patterns and textures."

[goodfellow]

“Oh I also like a good blanket,” Robin said. “Sometimes I pay someone to decorate my flat, I like throwing holiday parties. Maybe I should just have you do it.”

"Could be nice," Nyx said. "You have to come see the flat when it's done up though."
