Anael

Robin loved museums. All the history, all the memories. Paintings especially. All the painters he'd known over the years, all the subjects, all the models. Sometimes it was a strange sense of melancholy, sitting in a room full of images from the past, from his past, ad feeling consumed by it for just a few moments.

A little masochistic even, sometimes.

He sat on a bench in the National Gallery, looking at a painting of Achilles and Patroclus. It had been so long since he'd seen them. Those souls, the pair of them, sometimes brothers sometimes not, who had appeared over and over again throughout the ages. Achilles and Patroclus were just one of the incarnations. And it had been decades since Robin had watched a version of them die again.

Still, these were some of his favorites. Even if the Trojan War had been a hell of a time.

His gaze lingered on Achilles. The beautiful body, the blonde hair. Something tugged inside him.

Anael smiled. "There's a vote of confidence if I've ever heard one." But the teasing was warm, as was his habit. "Where would you like to go?" They could simply take a room here, of course, but the puck might want to suggest an alternative.

"Here is fine," said Robin, and when he smiled, it wasn't a leer. "I've been here before."

"Here it is, then," Anael replied, and smiled back at the puck. "We can even order some more wine." Which reminded him that he hadn't been drinking a lot of it, and he finished his glass.

"Perfect," said Robin. "You get the wine, my little white dove - I've opened a tab - and I will procure us a room with a view."

Anael had to admit, the dove thing was growing on him. He smiled, and headed off to do just that.

Robin used to call Ishiah turtledove just to piss him off. The thought made him smile.

He walked to the front desk and asked for a room. Something on a high floor, with a nice view, and a big bathtub.

Anael joined him right as he was given the keycard, an opened bottle and two clean glasses in hand. No, no, he'd insisted, no need for room service, just the wine. Highly irregular, but nothing a warm smile and a generous tip could not take care of.

"Room with a view?" he asked with a smile, as Robin stepped away from the front desk.

Robin grinned at him. "Only the best," he said, and led them to the elevator.

"It's a long way up," he said when they stepped inside. There was definitely time for a snog.

"All the longer for people to interrupt," Anael remarked, but he was smiling, and hardly minded. As the doors closed, he spread his hands slightly - one holding the bottle, the other the glasses - as if to point out that he could hardly fight off any overture the puck might make.

"No one goes up from anywhere but the lobby," Robin pointed out as soon as they started to rise. "They only go down."

He was tempted to go down then to make his point, but he was fairly certain there wasn't time for that.

Instead, he closed the distance between them, put both hands on the angel's face, and kissed him.

Anael was going to answer that, but then, he suddenly found that he had much better things to do with his mouth. Namely, opening up to that kiss and meeting it in kind, thankful that they were of a height. He leaned back against the wall behind him, keeping his hands to either side to keep the wine and the glasses safe. There was something oddly sweet about the way the puck's hands were cradling his face, something Anael had not expected from one so bent on denying that he felt anything but pleasure.

Robin had never kissed an angel before. He wasn't sure if he had expected something specific, but it felt like a normal kiss. And it continued on pace until Robin felt the elevator stop.

Just before the doors opened, he turned his head to whisper against Anael's ear, "You're delicious. I cannot wait to make your toes curl."

Anael laughed delightedly, then followed Robin out of the lift. "That sounds promising. Do you usually keep your promises, Robin?" It was a question especially worth asking of a puck, but it was laced with warm affection, when it came from Anael - especially with his lips buzzing so nicely.

"I like to," said Robin honestly, and used the key card to open the door into the hotel room.

It was just a room, not a suite, though it was decidedly posh - a large bed, a gorgeous view, and a glimpse into a large bathroom with a two person whirlpool tub.

"Good," Anael stated quietly, happily, and followed him into the room, already pouring wine into the two glasses he held in the one hand.

They had all their time, after all, and the wine was gorgeous. It would be a shame not to have it on hand.

"You're a good kisser," Robin observed as he picked up one of the full glasses.

"We're a good kissing match," Anael pointed out, a smile crinkling up his eyes, and he put the bottle down on the nearest piece of furniture. "Here's to that," he stated, and tilted his glass against Robin's before taking a sip.

Robin took a sip as well after the toast, eyeing Anael.

"You know, I have a bet with myself about whether you're actually going to turn out to be kind of a prude," he said.

"What is the prize?" Anael asked curiously, his fingertip tracing the edge of his glass.

Robin grinned. "The prize, of course, would be you not being a prude."

[whispersoflove]

"That hardly seems like much of a wager," Anael pointed out calmly, and took another sip of wine. The flavour burst again, rich and heavy, on his tongue, a perfect foretaste to what was to come.

But, for now, he wondered how long the puck would restrain himself.

"Yes well, one doesn't gain much from wagering with oneself," Robin pointed out. He watched Anael drink the wine, before draining his own glass.

Then he set it down and moved closer to him.

His hands went to the buckle on Anael's trousers.

The answer seemed to be, 'not very long at all,' and it made Anael smile, even as he brought his hands to Robin's forearms, to halt his hands. "Kiss me again, Robin," he requested, eyes bright.

He could have simply kissed him again, and helped him get his trousers off, but he wasn't. He had warned the puck what his, well, stitching came with, and now Robin would have to deal with it.

Robin's plan had actually been to start things off with what would no doubt be the best blow job of Anael's divine life. But... okay, fine.

Robin hooked a hand into Anael's shirt, yanked him close, and kissed him.

The hand holding his glass was held to the side, and Anael's smile at the tug was gone as their lips met again, and his other arm wrapped around the puck. There was love in that kiss; there was always love in his kisses. There was the lingering taste of wine, too, and the surge and flare of growing desire, fingers curling at the base of Robin's neck.
