Robin was "home" early from work because he'd sold a car for approximately three times what it was worth with the customer kissing his feet by the end. Seemed like a good reason to call it a day on a good note, and so he'd driven his own car way too fast down a busy street back to Thomas' place.

Thomas was still at the salon, and so Robin puttered around for a bit, bored. He took off his shoes and socks and jacket, drank a glass of wine, drank another glass of wine, and then started snooping around. He hadn't done a lot of that, considering how long he'd been staying here. He liked to think it was because Thomas was usually home when he was, or because he didn't care enough, rather than something like respecting the vampire's privacy.

He was glancing through the coat closet when he heard the front door open. It was pretty innocuous, the coat closet, so he didn't bother to stop. Instead he pulled out a hideous crocheted scarf, holding it between his hands and turning to regard Thomas (who looked as edible as always).

"I didn't take you for the handmade-by-grandma style," Robin said dryly, looking at the scarf with some distaste.

Thomas chuckled a little, even though he didn't really feel like laughing. "I'm okay. If you want to help, you can make the drinks." He needed one right about now.

At least Robin wasn't asking any more annoying questions.

"Turn down the opportunity to raid your liquor cabinet?" Robin responded dryly. "Never."

He carefully wrapped some of the tape around Thomas' right hand. "I would apologize, but it's pretty clearly your fault for grabbing for the thing."

Thomas snorted. "Which reminds me. What were you doing with it?" he asked, arching an eyebrow.

"Questioning your taste," Robin said. "I was concerned. May have had to stage a fashion intervention." He finished with one hand and started on the other.

"You should know better," Thomas replied, but he let it go. It was really a surprise Robin hadn't gone snooping sooner--he would have, in the puck's place.

"Glad to know I wasn't so terribly wrong about you," Robin said, even though the whole bit about him being in love didn't exactly sit well.

He finished, and dropped Thomas' hands. "There. You clean this up, I'll get the booze." He turned and strode out of the bathroom.

"Thank you," Thomas muttered under his breath, doing his best to put everything away without dropping anything. He headed back into the kitchen once it was all taken care of, banishing thoughts of Justine to the back of his mind where they usually dwelt.

Robin couldn't remember a lot of the night he'd come here to stay, given how incredibly drunk he'd been. He did have a vague recollection that maybe he had mentioned his marriage... though he rather hoped not.

Once in the kitchen, he looked through the bottles for a moment, and then pulled out the good scotch. He poured four shots and lined them up on the counter.

Thomas entered the room and made a beeline for the liquor. "That's a good start," he commented, fumbling one of the shot glasses into an awkward grip and draining it.

Robin watched him drain it, put the bottle away, and pulled out the cheaper stuff.

Then he knocked back one of the shots himself before refilling the one empty shot glass for Thomas.

"I approve of this coping mechanism," he announced.

Thomas eyed the glasses and then took one of the remaining top-shelf shots, while it still mattered what the alcohol tasted like. "If I hadn't just burned the hell out of my fingers I'd go even further," he replied as he set the empty shot glass on the counter. "But I doubt I'd roll a very good joint right now."

It had been a long time since Thomas had needed to use this particular coping mechanism, but Justine was a chink in his armor that he didn't think would ever go away.

Robin looked at him for a second, snorted, put down his shot glass, and left the room.

He returned a moment later carrying a rolled up piece of leather that rather looked like it would contain surgical tools, unrolled it on the bar, and revealed neatly labeled bags of marijuana along with the associated materials.

"As if I would let anyone else roll my weed anyway," he said.

Thomas drained the cheap shot and smirked as he gingerly set the glass down again. "Now that was just too easy." Yeah, this was a good plan. Alcohol, weed, and then some hot sex, and Thomas would be able to put thoughts of Justine back into the box he tried to keep them in.

"I prefer bongs," Robin said conversationally as he slid out a paper and popped the seal on one of the bags. "Or hookahs. Though those things are back at my place and this is much more portable."

As he spoke, his nimble fingers made quick work of the process, and only moments later he held a perfectly rolled joint between his fingers. He pulled a silver lighter out of his pocket and lit it, then politely passed it to Thomas.

"Portable is exactly why I usually go with the simple joint," Thomas remarked, taking the offered joint between bandaged fingers and dragging deeply. "...I want the number of your dealer," he added while still holding the smoke in, then exhaled slowly.

"He only deals with me," Robin said with a flash of white teeth, and plucked the joint from Thomas' fingers so that he could take a hit. "I guess you'll just have to keep me around."

Thomas arched an eyebrow. "...Are you suggesting we make this a permanent arrangement?" he asked incredulously. "Because if so, I think I need another shot."

Robin blinked at him. Then took another hit before passing it back to Thomas. "No, I was not asking to move in with you. For fuck's sake, do I look like I go for commitment?" He actually looked kind of petulant now, as if put out that he'd been so misread.

"Oh good." Thomas took another drag and held the joint out to Robin so he could use both hands to pour more scotch. "I was worried for your sanity for a minute."

"Hmph." Robin took another hit, now feeling pleasantly high. "As far as you're concerned, I only want one thing from you and it's in your pants."

They probably both knew that wasn't exactly true, but it wasn't like he was going to admit that.

Thomas snorted but didn't dispute the words. "Good to know you're not getting bored with me," he drawled, smirking.

"Bored? No. Not yet. But then, there's so much yet to keep my interest."

He picked up one of the shot glasses that Thomas had refilled and knocked it back. Then he set it down and slid his hand onto Thomas' thigh.

And then since there was clothing stopping the skin to skin contact he knew Thomas needed to really feel his desires, he leaned in and nipped lightly at his earlobe, too. With a bright vision of fucking Thomas dancing in his head.

Thomas inhaled sharply, draining his shot before turning to Robin, his eyes lightening. "...You want to top?" he murmured, brushing his lips over Robin's lightly.

"I do." Robin's tongue darted across Thomas' lips.

It wasn't something he'd cared much about thus far, mostly because what he had been getting from Thomas was what he hadn't been getting from anyone else lately - a kind of dominance that he craved, simple as it was.

But when it came to not being bored, well, there really was so much more to do. And the buzz of alcohol and weed and arousal had his dick hard with the thought of Thomas' perfect ass.

"Don't you?" His lips moved to Thomas' neck, hands sliding loosely onto his hips. "Don't tell me you haven't thought about it."

Thomas hadn't, not really, but that was because Robin hadn't. He tilted his head with a soft sigh, closing his eyes. "I thought you liked having me in charge," he teased, arms wrapping loosely around Robin as he shifted closer, responding to Robin's desire, arching against him.
