Hermes stripped casually. "Because I put up just enough of a fight to make it interesting or because I'm awfully pretty when I beg?"

Robin chuckled, and returned with his briefcase of toys a moment later, loosening his collar with his free hand.

Hermes looked away, feeling oddly unwanted, like an obligation. Hermes got up and walked back over to his clothes.

"Nevermind. You're right, I don't know why I came here."

Robin bristled.

"Fine," he said petulantly, sinking onto the bed, obviously pouting. "He's probably wondering where you are anyway."

Didn't Hermes know that 'kind of fond of you' for a puck translated to 'you're basically my only friend and I'm so fucking lonely I could scream'?

He looked over at Robin, frowning a little as he tried to get a read on him.

He walked to the door, but only so he could close it and turn the light off before returning to the bed. Navigating in the dark was second nature to him and he found Robin easily, brushing fingers against his cheek as he leaned down to kiss him softly.

Robin was actually kind of surprised when he felt the kiss. When he heard the door close he'd been sure that Hermes was on the other side of it (even if he also thought that leaving him in the dark was kind of a dick move).

But no, there was a soft kiss instead, and it was so gentle that Robin nearly flinched at it.

"I thought you were leaving."

"Why would I leave you without coming first?" Hermes asked. "Look," he said softly, carding his fingers into Robin's hair. "I came here because you're my friend, because you're fun and I like spending time rolling around with you. Because you understand who and what I am and you don't let it scare you."

Robin was starting to get uncomfortable. This felt a lot like feelings, the kind that he spent most of his life trying to avoid. Or at least, if he had to put a number on it, since about the first century A.D.

"Just don't marry him," he muttered, sounding strangely vulnerable. "It'll only end in heartbreak."

"Mine or yours?" Hermes asked before leaning in to kiss him hard, not giving him a chance to respond.

Robin's heart had gotten covered over in lava.

He was glad he didn't have to give into the impulse to say that, though, because Hermes was kissing him and he was kissing back, sliding a hand up into his hair. He wished it were a little longer, he liked having something to grip onto.

Hermes eased him back onto the bed, straddling him with one hand on his chest as he braced his weight on his other arm.
